2024 Training and Leadership Development Ideas

Does your 2024 training budget include a budget for team communication training and assessment tools?

It should, and here is why.

One of my favourite tools to work with communication styles is the Everything DiSC® tool. This program I deliver to clients fosters self-awareness and understanding and provides tools and action items for each individual and within the team.

As your certified facilitator for DiSC® profiles and training programs, here are a few things you should know.

One of the most common experiences I hear from participants who have taken DiSC® training is that people struggle with each of the profiles outside their own.

For example, I used to be intimidated by others with a D in their profile, even though I also have a D when taking the assessment.

As another example, I've heard that C's ask too many questions, which can frustrate other profiles.

What are some common challenges that arise in workplaces with different DISC®profiles?

One challenge that can arise is that D-types may feel like they always have to take charge, while S-types may feel like they are not given enough responsibility. Another challenge is that I-types and C-types may have difficulty communicating with each other, as I-types tend to be more emotional, and C-types tend to be more logical.

When we don't understand that we have different ways of communicating and have different work priorities, we can get into our thinking patterns and forget about the other person in the process. At least, this is what can happen to me. I found that DiSC®gave me the gift of compassion and empathy for others as I understood the differences in the workplace and that it's not a bad thing by any means.

However, these challenges can be overcome by understanding the different personality types and learning how to communicate effectively with each other.

You want to be able to look at the strengths of each profile and utilize them to your advantage.

How to Improve Workplace Culture Using Extended DISC®

If you want to improve workplace culture, DISC® can be a helpful tool. By understanding the different personality types of your employees, you can learn how to better communicate with, motivate, and manage them. You can also create a more positive and productive environment by promoting respect and valuing diversity. Workplaces that use DISC® profiling often find that it helps to improve communication and collaboration between employees.

How can Managers use Extended DISC® to create a More Productive and Positive Work Environment?

Managers can use Extended DISC® to create a more productive work environment by ensuring a blend of DISC profiles across their teams and organizations. A well-balanced organizational culture taps into the strengths of each style. Such an environment would simultaneously place value upon:

  • Results (D)

  • Morale and the environment (I)

  • Relationships and service to others (S)

  • Quality and processes (C)

We can create positive change within your organization using the DiSC® tool

Don't limit your training and development budget for X, Y and Z reasons.

I am a business owner and solopreneur, and sometimes, I wasn't making the revenue to afford even the bare essentials, especially during COVID-19. That did not stop me from investing in my personal and professional development, fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it. If I had stopped my development because of my own budget constraints, I wouldn't be able to give you the gift of delivering DiSC® as a certified trainer today, which will support your workplace culture and allow things to flow better.

If you want to learn more about the program and how it can work within your organization with my process, send me a DM or fill out your details here.
